NT Print Server V1.0

High Speed Image Printing for Windows Networks

Charlotte, North Carolina - July 23, 1999 - Northeast Data Corp. today announced version 1.0 of the NT Print Server, which provides high performance printing of images on Windows networks..

"The NT Print Server offloads image printing to a server and makes it possible to build imaging systems with low-end PCs" says Wade Cobb, President at Northeast Data Corp. "Windows GDI printing is very compute-intensive. With ever-increasing image quality, the size of image files becomes far too large for average PCs to handle.  Image files also impose a tremendous burden on conventional networks.  This product allows integrators to isolate imaging to a high-performance subsystem and thereby avoid overhauling the client hardware".

The NT Print Server uses a Windows NT server to print images.  The product includes 16 and 32-bit ActiveX controls for building client applications that interface with the server.  The NT Print Server software is an NT Service with a control panel application for configuring printers. JPEG, TIFF (CCITT G3, G4, color), TARGA, Kodak Photo CD, and BMP image file formats are supported.

The NT Print Server is available now from Northeast Data Corp. and its distributors. For a demo of this and other software from Northeast Data Corp., please visit our web site at:
